Privacy policy
Effective 8 November 2026
1. In short
- The only personal information this website collects is the business email address you give us to join the RHEVO waitlist, a salted hash of your IP address to stop abuse, and the time you joined.
- The hash is kept apart from your email address, and we never store your raw IP address.
- We never sell your information.
- We set no advertising or analytics cookies on this site.
- You can ask for a copy of your information, or have it deleted, at any time by writing to us.
2. Who this policy covers
Everyone whose personal information we handle: visitors to this site, people who join the RHEVO waitlist, people who email us, and our customers.
3. Who is responsible
NEURQ Labs, a sole proprietorship in South Africa, is the responsible party for the information described in this policy. Its owner, as head of the business, is also its information officer, under section 1 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act and section 55 of POPIA. Write to the information officer about anything in this policy:
- Email: [email protected].
- Post or in person: Morningside, Johannesburg, 2196.
4. What we collect
Through this website, we collect only the following:
- Your business email address, when you join the RHEVO waitlist.
- A salted hash of the IP address the waitlist request came from, and the time of the request. The hash is made with a secret salt and the date, so it changes every day and cannot be turned back into an IP address. It is used only to limit how often the form can be used.
- Your email address and what you write, if you email us.
- Technical information that our hosting provider records to run and protect the site, such as the IP address a request comes from and the page requested. We do not use it to identify anyone.
We do not ask for special personal information, such as your race, ethnic origin, religion, health, sex life, political views, trade union membership, biometrics or criminal record. Please leave it out of anything you send us.
5. How we use it
- To add you to the RHEVO waitlist and tell you when RHEVO becomes available.
- To limit abuse of the waitlist form and keep the site secure.
- To answer your questions and complaints.
- To meet our duties under South African law.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we never sell it.
6. Our lawful reasons
POPIA lets us use personal information only for a lawful reason. Ours are:
- your consent: you asked to join the waitlist, and you can withdraw it at any time by asking us to remove your entry;
- a legitimate interest, ours or yours: to keep the site secure and prevent abuse of the form, never where it outweighs your rights;
- the law: to answer lawful requests from a court, the police or a regulator.
7. The waitlist
The waitlist is stored in a secure database run by our hosting provider. Each entry holds your business email address and the time you joined. The salted hash of the IP address is kept in a separate table that only limits abuse, and it is deleted shortly after. We never store the raw IP address. We keep your entry until RHEVO launches or you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first.
To leave the waitlist, write to [email protected] from the address you used. We remove the entry within 30 days.
8. Who sees it
- Our service providers: they process information for us under written contracts, only on our instructions and with proper security, as sections 20 and 21 of POPIA require. They cover hosting and the waitlist database.
- The authorities: a court, the police, the South African Revenue Service or a regulator, only where the law requires or allows it, for example under a court order, or to protect someone's life or safety.
- A new owner: if the business is sold or passes to someone else, your information goes with it, and we tell you first.
We never sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
9. Outside South Africa
Some of our providers handle information outside South Africa. Our hosting provider may process the site and the waitlist in its data centres in other countries. We use such a provider only where section 72 of POPIA allows it: where the provider is bound by law, binding corporate rules or a contract to protect the information at least as well as POPIA does, or where the transfer is needed to give you the service you asked for.
10. How long we keep it
- Waitlist entries: until RHEVO launches or you ask us to remove your entry.
- Emails you send us: for as long as we need them to answer you, then no longer than 24 months.
- Invoices and other tax records: 5 years, as tax law requires.
- Security records, such as the hashed IP addresses used to limit abuse: a short time only, then they are deleted.
11. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to be told when your information is collected and why, to see it, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how it is used, to withdraw your consent, not to be subject to a decision based only on automated processing, and to complain.
- To see what we hold: write to [email protected]. Once we know it is you, we send you everything we keep about you, within 30 days. Asking whether we hold information about you is free.
- To correct it: write to us with what should change.
- To delete it: write to us, and we remove it within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- To object to how we use it, or withdraw consent: write to us, and we stop.
If you are not happy with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa: through its eService portal at inforegulator.org.za, by email to [email protected], by phone on 010 023 5200, or at Woodmead North Office Park, 54 Maxwell Drive, Woodmead, Johannesburg, 2191.
12. How we protect it
- Everything travels over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
- The waitlist is stored in a secure database that only NEURQ Labs can reach, with access limited to the owner.
- IP addresses are stored only as a salted hash, so the raw address cannot be recovered from the database.
- We use our hosting provider's protection against bots and abuse, and we limit how often the waitlist form can be used.
13. If something goes wrong
If we have reason to believe that someone has reached your information without permission, we tell the Information Regulator and you as soon as reasonably possible, as section 22 of POPIA requires, with what we know and what you can do to protect yourself. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that it will never happen.
14. Children
This site is for businesses and the people who run them. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly keep information about anyone under 18. If we find that we have, we delete it.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the law, our service or the way we use information changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects you materially, we tell you on the site before it applies.
